Friends 2017 Supported Project
With the successful completion of our Spitfire Project in 2016, the Friends have now turned their attention to the static restoration of the RAAF Museum Curtiss Kittyhawk A29-28.
One of the ways you can contribute to the project is by subscribing to our Aerogram magazine. Subscriptions are available for the print magazine or digital version (online, Apple or Android apps).

The aircraft chosen for this exhibit is Curtiss Kittyhawk P40-E A29-28 which joined 75 Sqn (from 76 Sqn) in Townsville as a replacement aircraft on 30th March 1942. It was flown to Port Moresby where it survived until the 17th April 1942, before being damaged by enemy action. Eventually A29-28 was made flyable and returned to Australia.
