To become a Friend is to join a diverse group of people supporting the aims and objectives of the RAAF Museum, dedicated to preserving and promoting the heritage and traditions of the Australian Flying Corps and the Royal Australian Air Force.
In today’s busy society not everybody has the time or desire to become an active member. So they elect to support the ideals and activities of the Friends through an annual financial subscription that helps fund the activities of the Friends and the museum ensuring that the RAAF Museum continues to be a world class aviation museum.
The Friends’ active members play a vital role in providing assistance to the museum staff in carrying out various duties. These include acting as Host Officers for the museum’s visitors, assisting the museum’s research staff or drawing on previous trade training to participate in restoration and maintenance work.
The qualification for Active Membership requires that a General Member be registered with, and actively involved in a volunteer capacity at the RAAF Museum and must complete the equivalent of a minimum of seven days volunteer service per annum.
